POSITION OVERVIEW

Cauridor is seeking a visionary, hands-on Software Head of Engineering to spearhead our technical roadmap. In this role, you will be more than just a manager; you will be a technical architect and mentor, guiding a talented team of developers to build the next generation of financial infrastructure for Africa. You will oversee our core stack—PHP Laravel, React, and Python—ensuring that our systems are scalable, secure, and resilient as we expand our footprint across the continent.

Your Impact Zone

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Define and drive the technical vision for Cauridor’s cross-border remittance and payment platform.
• Lead the architecture and design of complex, distributed systems using PHP Laravel for high-performance APIs and Python for advanced data services.
• Oversee the development of intuitive, responsive web interfaces built with React.
• Set high standards for code quality, security, and performance across the entire development lifecycle.

Team Management & Mentorship

• Manage and mentor a high-performing team of software engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Conduct regular code reviews and architectural audits to ensure adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and actionable sprints.

Strategic Integration & Scaling

• Lead the integration of Cauridor’s infrastructure with global financial partners, IMTOs, and local Mobile Network Operators (MNOs).
• Optimize system reliability and implement automated testing and CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, safe deployments.
• Spearhead fraud prevention and security initiatives, ensuring the highest level of data integrity for our users.

Your Toolkit for the Role

Technical Expertise

• Backend Mastery: 10-15+ years of experience in software development, with deep expertise in PHP Laravel.
• Frontend Proficiency: Strong experience with React and modern JavaScript ecosystems.
• Data & Scripting: Advanced knowledge of Python for automation, data processing, or AI/ML integrations.
• Databases: Expertise in MySQL or PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and complex schema design.
• Architecture: Proven track record of designing scalable microservices or service-oriented architectures.

Leadership Skills

• Previous experience leading or managing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong project management skills and familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
