The Opportunity:

We are seeking a visionary, empathetic, and exceptionally skilled Product/UX & Graphics Designer to join our team. You will be the ultimate champion of the user, responsible for defining and designing intuitive, engaging, and impactful experiences across all Cosbyte platforms, starting with GigShip. This pivotal role blends deep user understanding with creative visual design, shaping not just the product’s aesthetic appeal, but also its core functionality, user journey, and brand identity, ensuring our solutions are truly “loved to use.”

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end user experience (UX) design process, from comprehensive user research and strategic ideation to iterative prototyping and rigorous usability testing.
• Conduct in-depth user research (e.g., interviews, surveys, ethnographic studies) to deeply understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of diverse users within the African context.
• Translate complex user research insights and ambitious business requirements into clear user flows, detailed wireframes, interactive prototypes, and polished high-fidelity mockups for both web and mobile interfaces.
• Design intuitive and aesthetically pleasing User Interfaces (UI) that are seamlessly consistent with Cosbyte’s evolving brand guidelines and adhere to the highest accessibility standards.
• Create, maintain, and evangelize a robust design system to ensure consistency, efficiency, and scalability across all Cosbyte products.
• Collaborate intimately with Backend and Frontend Developers to ensure technical feasibility, optimal implementation, and a smooth translation of design into code.
• Rigorously conduct usability testing, analyze user feedback, and leverage analytical data to continuously iterate on designs and drive measurable improvements in user satisfaction and engagement.
• Contribute significantly to initial graphic design needs, including defining and developing core branding elements, crafting compelling marketing materials, and designing engaging social media visuals.
• Champion a user-centric design culture throughout the entire organization, inspiring a shared commitment to exceptional user experiences.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven Expertise: 3+ years of highly impactful experience in Product Design, UX/UI Design, with an exceptional portfolio showcasing successful, user-centric web and/or mobile applications
• .UX Authority: Deep and demonstrable understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, interaction design, and usability heuristics
• .UI & Prototyping Mastery: Expert-level proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD). Figma is highly preferred
• .Research & Synthesis Skills: Proven ability to conduct robust user research, synthesize complex insights, and translate them into actionable design solutions
• .Visual Acuity & Brand Sense: An outstanding aesthetic sense and meticulous attention to detail in visual design, typography, color theory, and layout. Ability to contribute to early brand identity
• .Exceptional Communicator: Possesses superior communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, able to articulate design decisions effectively and inspire confidence among technical and non-technical stakeholders
