Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Software Engineer at BrightKey Services. The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs that power web applications and integrated systems. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, testable code, reviewing code from peers, participating in architectural discussions, and improving existing services for performance, scalability, and reliability. The role involves collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to refine requirements, estimate work, and deliver high-quality features on schedule. The Senior Software Engineer will also mentor less experienced engineers, contribute to best practices, and help drive continuous improvement in the development process and tooling.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including algorithms, data structures, and system design.
- Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with experience in at least one modern language such as Java, C#, Python, or similar.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, building and maintaining APIs, microservices, and database-backed applications.
- Experience with version control systems, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team environment, with clear written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring or leading technical projects is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern architectural patterns is a plus.
