Join the Percona Everest team as a Senior Quality Engineer and lead quality efforts for our next-gen DBaaS platform. You’ll drive end-to-end testing across UI, CLI, and API layers, working closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams. This role combines deep technical testing expertise, database knowledge, and leadership responsibility.
What You Will Do
- Own and evolve test strategies for distributed, cloud-native applications.
- Design and automate tests for Kubernetes-based deployments (EKS, GKE, OpenShift).
- Validate database functionality and lifecycle operations (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Build and maintain UI automation using Playwright.
- Develop and execute API and CLI-based test scenarios.
- Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Lead triaging, defect management, and QA decision-making.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and collaborate cross-functionally.
What You Have Done
- 10–12 years of experience in Quality Engineering.
- Exposure with leadership experience.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and Operators.
- Strong command-line and Linux proficiency.
- Solid understanding of database setup, backup, and recovery (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Experience in Playwright automation (JS/TS preferred).
- Strong API testing knowledge (Postman, REST-assured, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions and modern CI/CD workflows.
- Experience with tools like TestRail, Zephyr, and JIRA.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Experience testing DBaaS platforms (Percona Everest, RDS, Atlas, etc.).
- Familiarity with Helm chart testing, Operator validation, and CRD behavior.
- Exposure to Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM), Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki.
- Strong scripting in Python/Bash for test tooling and diagnostics.
- Open-source contribution or hybrid deployment testing experience.
