A Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects within defined scope, time, and budget constraints. They coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project plans, including work breakdown structures, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Track project progress and identify potential risks and issues.
- Manage project budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery.
- Facilitate effective communication with stakeholders.
- Monitor project performance and report on key metrics.
- Implement project management best practices and methodologies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project objectives are met.
- Manage project scope and change requests.
- Conduct regular project reviews and status updates.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in project management within the fintech, banking, or payments industry
- Strong understanding of digital payments, financial services, and regulatory frameworks in Ghana and Africa
- Demonstrated experience managing card migration projects and working with international payment schemes (Visa, Mastercard)
- Relevant scheme certifications (Visa, Mastercard) are highly preferred
- Established connections with banks, payment schemes, and financial institutions in Ghana and the wider region
- Ability to manage end-to-end project lifecycle (planning, execution, monitoring, and closure)
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum or other project management methodologies is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to anticipate risks and provide solutions
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to present updates clearly
- Project Management certification preferred – PMP, PRINCE2, etc.
