Role Description
This is a remote, volunteer opportunity for an AI Developer passionate about building ethical and local-first AI tools. You will help design, prototype, and implement AI models for digital behavior analysis, offline NLP, and reputation cleaning. You’ll also collaborate with a small team of engineers, designers, and researchers to integrate your models into a growing suite of offline-first tools.
Key Responsibilities
-Design and train lightweight AI models for NLP, behavior analysis, and tone/emotion detection.
-Work on pattern recognition algorithms for text classification, toxicity detection, and digital behavior trends.
-Integrate models with local-device systems (e.g., TensorFlow Lite, ONNX, or llama.cpp).
-Support data preprocessing, model evaluation, and ethical prompt curation.
-Contribute to Braveon’s mission of multilingual, culturally-aware AI — especially supporting African languages, emoji slang, and regional digital behavior.
-Collaborate with a cross-functional team (tech + non-tech) in short agile sprints.
Qualifications & Skills
-Knowledge of AI/ML concepts including neural networks, classification, and NLP
-Familiarity with AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, HuggingFace Transformers, or spaCy
Experience (even academic or personal projects) in:
-Sentiment analysis
-Toxicity detection
-Embedding models (BERT, DistilBERT, etc.)
-Strong problem-solving and research skills
-Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous setup
-Excellent communication (English; bonus if you know French, Hausa, Swahili, or other African languages)
-Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field
-Interest in digital privacy, ethical AI, and offline-first innovation
