This role will serve as a developer and technical architect, participating in all aspects of development, upgrades, security, and performance improvements.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Serve as a developer for Adobe Commerce (Magento) solutions, including custom module development, integrations, and platform upgrades.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure PHP migrations, MySQL upgrades, and transition to Valkey are successful.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oversee compatibility audits for custom and third-party modules, ensuring alignment with new PHP versions and Adobe Commerce 2.4.8 standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Define and enforce coding standards, including strict typing, PSR-2 adherence, and use of dependency injection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Own all aspects of the development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, code review, testing, deployment, and documentation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refactor legacy code to address security vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, and maintainability concerns.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement and optimize caching strategies (Fastly, Valkey), CDN configurations, and page speed improvements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure robust integration with RabbitMQ, OpenSearch, LiveSearch and other platform components.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proactively address security risks, including unescaped output, deprecated functions, and SQL injection vulnerabilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor and optimize system performance using New Relic and other observability tools; resolve slow queries, high cache miss rates, and indexing issues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Directly work with project lead and frontend developer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with QA, project management, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions on schedule.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep up to date on Adobe Commerce\u2019s roadmap and feature rollouts. Carefully planning and implementing these changes while also supporting the organization&#8217;s development needs.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Required Skills &amp; Experience<br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5+ years of hands-on experience with Adobe Commerce (Magento 2), including custom module development and platform upgrades.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A thorough understanding and appreciation for PHP the right way (phptherightway.com).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deep expertise in object-oriented PHP (including 8.3\/8.4), MySQL, Valkey\/Redis, LiveSearch, and Fastly CDN.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong understanding of secure coding practices, performance optimization, and modern software architecture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proven experience managing complex upgrade projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with CI\/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code quality tools (e.g., PHPCBF, PSR-2).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adobe Commerce certification(s).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS) and CDN optimization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prior experience with third-party integrations (Akeneo, Cybersource, Bazaarvoice).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of accessibility (ADA) standards and
