Summary
We are offering an exciting National Service placement for a Frontend-Focused Full stack Developer to join our engineering team. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to real products, collaborate with experienced developers, and grow your skills in a remote-first, fast-paced environment. The Frontend-Focused Fullstack Developer NSP will primarily be responsible for building and maintaining high-quality user interfaces using Next.js, while also supporting backend development efforts using C# and ASP.NET Core. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in frontend development, a working knowledge of backend concepts, and a passion for writing clean, scalable code.
Key Responsibilities Frontend Development
- Build and maintain responsive, performant user interfaces using Next.js and modern React patterns.
- Implement pixel-perfect UI components from design mockups and wireframes.
- Optimize frontend performance through code splitting, lazy loading, and caching strategies.
- Integrate RESTful APIs and handle data fetching using tools like Axios or React Query
Backend Development
- Assist in building and maintaining backend services and APIs using C# and ASP.NET Core
- Support the development of RESTful API endpoints consumed by the frontend
- Help with backend bug fixes, code reviews, and minor feature enhancements as needed
Integration & Collaboration
- Collaborate with backend engineers to ensure seamless API integration between frontend and backend
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge across the team
- Contribute to sprint planning, daily standups, and agile development processes
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Identify, debug, and resolve frontend bugs and performance issues
- Conduct basic end-to-end testing to ensure features work as expected before deployment
Documentation & Best Practices
- Document frontend components, workflows, and technical decisions for team reference
- Follow version control best practices using Git and participate in pull request reviews
Requirements
- Final year student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and React.js fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with Next.js.
- Basic knowledge of C# or any object-oriented programming language.
- Understanding of RESTful API concepts and how frontend and backend systems communicate.
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for building great user experiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
NICE TO HAVE
- Exposure to UI/UX design tools such as Figma.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks such as Jest or Cypress.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Vercel.
